In December, Amsterdam turns into a festive winter city with Christmas markets in every corner – from the grand market on Museumplein to cosy neighbourhood markets in the canal district. Roughly from 10 to 27 December 2026, you’ll find mulled wine, crafts, food stalls and twinkling lights across town. Exact dates per market to be confirmed.

The main Christmas markets

• Museumplein / Ice Village: the largest concentration of festive stalls, next to the Ice Amsterdam skating rink with the Rijksmuseum as backdrop
• Westergas Winter Market: design, vintage and food trucks in the industrial setting of the Westergasfabriek
• Neighbourhood markets: the Jordaan, Haarlemmerstraat and the Nine Streets host smaller weekend markets with local makers
• Funenpark & museum markets: one-day markets pop up across town – check the calendar in December
