Ice Amsterdam 2026/2027 – Museumplein Ice Rink
November 14, 2026 @ 10:00 am – February 1, 2027 @ 10:00 pm

Skating with the Rijksmuseum as your backdrop: every winter, Ice Amsterdam transforms Museumplein into the most photogenic ice rink of the Netherlands. From roughly mid-November 2026 to early February 2027, half a million visitors lace up their skates in the heart of the museum quarter. Exact dates to be confirmed.
Skating in the museum quarter
The open-air rink sits directly in front of the Rijksmuseum, complete with the famous skating bridge – a replica canal bridge on the ice that delivers Amsterdam’s most-shared winter photo. Around the rink you’ll find a winter village with chalets, warm chocolate, snacks and a heated pavilion.
Good to know

- Kids’ area: a separate section and skating aids make it family-friendly
- Evenings are magical: the rink and the illuminated Rijksmuseum make for a perfect winter evening
- On rare cold winters, the ponds behind the rink freeze too – then all of Amsterdam skates
