IJ-Hallen Flea Market – NDSM Amsterdam
August 29 @ 9:00 am – August 30 @ 4:30 pm

The IJ-Hallen is the largest flea market of Europe: one weekend a month, the NDSM wharf in Amsterdam Noord fills with hundreds of stalls of second-hand clothing, furniture, vinyl, books, art, toys and curiosities. The next edition takes place on 29 and 30 August 2026 with around 750 outdoor stalls; on 19-20 September the market moves inside the monumental NDSM halls.
Treasure hunting on a shipyard
What makes the IJ-Hallen unique is the setting: the raw industrial NDSM terrain, once one of the largest shipyards in the world. Between cranes and street art, bargain hunters, vintage dealers and stylists from all over Europe search for gems – prices stay refreshingly low because most sellers are private individuals emptying their attics.
Tips for your visit
- Come early: dealers pick the best pieces in the first hour (opening 09:00)
- Bring cash – many private sellers don’t take cards – and a big bag
- Haggling is expected, especially in the afternoon
- Combine with the NDSM street art, waterfront cafés and the views across the IJ
