NYX Hotel Amsterdam Rembrandt Square: The Former Eden

NYX Hotel Amsterdam Rembrandt Square is a 161-room hotel on the Amstelstraat, in the wing of the former Eden Hotel that faces the Rembrandtplein. Booking.com still uses the old Eden name in its link, but the listing is the NYX. Why stay at the NYX

For years this was the Eden Hotel. In 2026 Leonardo Hotels split the building in two: the wing on the Amstel river stayed a Leonardo hotel, now Leonardo Eden Hotel Amsterdam City Center, and the wing on the Amstelstraat became NYX Hotel Amsterdam Rembrandt Square. NYX presents itself as a lifestyle hotel built around local art and music.

The address is the point. The Rembrandtplein, one of the busiest nightlife squares in the city, is two minutes away, and the H’ART Museum, the Jewish Cultural Quarter, the Magere Brug and the Waterlooplein market are all within seven minutes on foot.

The rooms: what you should know before booking

Read the room description carefully before you book; these are the points that matter most here.

  • Size. The smallest rooms are about 10 m² with a single bed. Superior and Executive rooms, in double or twin, give more space, and suites run to about 45 m². Sizes per type are not published.
  • Noise. The Rembrandtplein is a nightlife square, so expect evening noise on the street side. Light sleepers should ask for a room away from the street.
  • Old room counts. Some booking sites still show 391 rooms. That was the old combined figure for the whole Eden building; the NYX has 161.
  • Families. Baby cots are available for a nightly fee. Booking sites say children up to three stay free in their parents’ room using the existing beds.
