Pokémon at the Van Gogh Museum

To mark the 50th anniversary of the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam, there is a unique Pokémon exhibition at the museum in collaboration with The Pokémon Company until 7 January 2024. Pokémon’s Pikachu, Eevee, Snorlax and many others will be on display at the Van Gogh Museum! Join the Pokémon Adventure, view Pokémon paintings inspired by famous Van Gogh masterpieces, or get creative and draw Pikachu. Don’t miss out and book your tickets to the museum now.

Pokemon and Van Gogh in Amsterdam

The unique collaboration between The Pokemon Company and the Van Gogh Museum Amsterdam can be visited at the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam until 7 January 2024. The exhibition was developed in honour of the Van Gogh Museum’s 50th anniversary. The exhibition consists of a number of sections and activities:

Pokémon Paintings

Permanent collection, floor 1

Take a look at Pikachu with a grey felt hat, Snorlax deep asleep, or Sunflora peeking through Sunflowers in Van Gogh-inspired Pokémon paintings.

Pokémon Adventure (6+)

Go on a Pokémon Adventure along Van Gogh’s paintings and discover the stories about the masterpieces. Pick up your copy at the Information Desk in the Atrium. Available in English and Dutch.

Please note: the promotional Pikachu with Grey Felt Hat trading card will no longer be issued by the Van Gogh Museum.

How to Draw Pikachu

Restaurant, floor 0

Head to the museum’s restaurant to watch the video How to Draw Pikachu. Grab a pencil and paper, and draw your version of fan favourite Pokémon Pikachu.

Ticket prices and availability

You do not need a separate ticket for the Pokemon exhibition. However, a Van Gogh Museum for your visit day and specific arrival time are required. Amsterdam’s Van Gogh Museum is a popular attraction in Amsterdam’s city centre. The special Pokemon exhibition makes the museum even more popular and you need to book your tickets well in advance.
