The Heineken Head of the River Amstel is the classic long-distance rowing race of the Netherlands. On a weekend in late March 2027, thousands of rowers in eights and fours race over the Amstel river, finishing in the heart of Amsterdam. Exact dates to be confirmed.

The Dutch rowing classic

First held in 1932, the Head of the River attracts crews from across Europe – from student clubs to Olympic rowers. With around 6,000 participants it is one of the largest rowing events in Europe.
